Royal Caribbean Receives Initial Approval for Miami Expansion

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has received initial approval from the Miami-Dade Commissioners to proceed with plans to construct a new terminal at PortMiami in order to expand operations.

See our earlier report on the cruise line’s expansion plans.

Currently, RCL’s largest ships sail out of Fort Lauderdale. Once this port expansion is completed, RCL says they plan on shifting a majority of their business to Miami. At this time, RCL only operates the Majesty of the Seas out of Miami. They sail the Allure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, and Oasis of the Seas out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
