About the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas

After spending some time cruising in the Pacific, the Mariner of the Seas will transfer to Miami in 2018. The ship will undergo an extensive revitalization before making the shift to Miami. Miami will then be the Mariner of the Seas’ new home port.

The Mariner of the Seas will be the first of Royal Caribbean’s Voyager-class ships (with amenities such as a rock-climbing wall, ice-skating rink, and Royal Promenade) to offer short 3 & 4 day cruises from Miami. Cruise offerings aboard the Mariner of the Seas include three and four night cruises to the Bahamas. Three night Mariner of the Seas cruises to Nassau and Cococay depart on Friday, making for a nice weekend getaway, while 4 night cruises to the same destinations, with a Monday departure provide a good mid-week option.

Mariner has many of the amenities that made Royal Caribbean’s Voyager-class ships famous. There’s a rock climbing wall, ice-skating rink, miniature golf course, and more. The ice rink is used for ice-skating shows as well as open skating for passengers. There’s a large movie screen over the swimming pool, providing a great spot for movie nights under the stars.

If you’re traveling with children, there are special activities for the kids such as the Dreamworks Experience and Adventure Ocean, and the ship has an adults-only Solarium for when you need a quiet get-away.

Mariner of the Seas’ Royal Promenade is a large atrium space that creates a Main Street sort of atmosphere. This the place to go to enjoy shopping, cafes, and the fun evening street parades.

Dining options on the Mariner of the Seas include the main dining rooms, Windjammer Cafe buffets, steakhouse fare at Chops Grille, rustic Italian meals at Giovanni’s Table, burgers, fries, and shakes at Johnny Rockets, and more.

Cabin options aboard the Mariner of the seas include interior, ocean view, and balcony cabins, plus several levels of suites. Some rooms have windows overlooking the Royal Promenade. Junior Suites have a private balcony, a cozy sitting area, and two twin beds that can be converted to a king.
