About the Viking Star
Viking Star launched in 2015 as the first of Viking’s Ocean Ships.
With a maximum passenger capacity of 930, the Viking Sky offers a small ship cruising experience, with luxurious amenities, a great crew-to passenger ratio, and an interesting variety of itineraries.
Everyone gets a balcony on Viking Star All Viking Star staterooms have private verandas. That’s right, no inside cabins!
Available stateroom options vary in size from 270 square foot Veranda cabins to a variety of suites sized at 405 to 1,448 square feet.
All staterooms have large bathrooms with glass enclosed walk-in showers, king sized beds with luxury linens, and 42′” flat-screen LCD TVs.
Onboard amenities include two swimming pools – one with a retractable roof for all-season swimming, and a glass-backed infinity pool cantilevered out over the stern of the ship. The ship’s LivNordic Spa has a fitness center, sauna, and a Snow Grotto where snowflakes gently descend from the ceiling!
Viking Cruises onboard entertainment comes in the form of their Viking’s Cultured Curriculum offerings. Lectures, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, and “destination performances” are designed to provide cruisers with an immersive destination experience.
Viking’s ships offer multiple restaurant locations and food choices. Cruisers can choose from The Restaurant, which serves three full meals and a wide choice of culinary options; World Café, which serves international fare and regional specialties; The Chef’s Table, which offers a multi-course tasting menu complete with wine parings; Manfredi’s, which features freshly prepared pastas and Italian favorites; The Kitchen Table, with a focus on regional dishes; the Pool Grill, specializing in gourmet burgers; The Wintergarden, where afternoon tea and scones are served; and Mamsen’s, with Norwegian deli-style fare.
