About the Norwegian Sky
This Norwegian Cruise Line ship had its first cruise in 1999 and was completely refurbished in 2019. Rooms on Norwegian Sky range from luxurious Owner’s and Penthouse Suites to Ocean View rooms (with and without balconies) to still-comfortable interior staterooms.
The big main dining rooms on Norwegian Sky are “Crossings” and “Palace”, seating 574 and 532, respectively. “Le Bistro” offers modern and classic French cuisine to up to 84 guests at a time. “Cagney’s” specializes in grilled contemporary food. It’s all modern at “Il Adagio” – modern design and contemporary Italian fare. “Garden Cafe” is a buffet-style indoor/outdoor restaurant. Breakfast and lunch buffets are served at the Longboard Bar, where cruisers can watch live broadcasts of sporting events. If you’re hungry for pizza, the Sky has 24 hour pizza delivery service to your stateroom or favorite bar or lounge. And you can always choose from the room service menu, available 24 hours a day.
Most modern cruise ships never want you to go thirsty and Norwegian Sky is no exception, with nine bars on the ship. Notable are “Plantation Club”, which specializes in champagne and wine, “Dazzles Bar and Nightclub”, which is appropriately dazzling, and The Coffee Bar, where you can start your day with the usual jolt of caffeine.
Norwegian Sky has two big outdoor swimming pools and five hot tubs, plus the smaller “Splashes” children’s pool. The main show lounge on Sky is the 930 seat “Stardust Lounge” (also available for group meetings during the day). Cruises can try their luck at Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, and Let it Roll in Sky Club Casino on Deck 7. For those wishing to stay active during their cruise, the jogging/walking track circles the perimeter of Deck 6, there’s a basketball/volleyball court on Deck 12 and golfers can hit a few into the nets on Deck 12. The Body Waves Fitness Center and Spa are located on Deck 11, with fitness equipment, exercise classes and all kinds of beauty and “rejuvenation” treatments.
