The new port has been added to Carnival’s itineraries and the Carnival Victory was the first to arrive there on October 6, 2015.  The port is located near Puerto Plato on the Dominican Republic’s North Coast and has docking space for two large ships at the same time.

The port development includes restaurants, bars, shops, and pools for guests to enjoy, and Carnival has a long list of shore excursions prepared for their new port, including lots of adventure-oriented activities such as horseback riding on the beach. Tours to nearby historic sites and beaches will also depart from here.

Cruises from Miami that include a stop at Amber Cove include the Carnival Victory, Carnival Sensation, and Carnival Splendor.
