Cruise Visitor Center Planned for Miami International Airport

plane-icon-2According to anĀ 10/13/15 Miami Today article, Dade County Commissioners recently approved plans to develop a cruise travel center at Miami International Airport. The center will ease the transition between the airport and the cruise terminal, allowing cruise lines to process passengers and their luggage when they arrive at the airport.

The project is still in the early planning stages. Appropriate space in the airport still needs to be identified, there are some concerns about International Longshoremen’s Association workers collecting baggage at the airport, and a funding mechanism needs to be identified.

If all this gets worked out, cruising from Miami could be more convenient than ever.
