Sir Richard Branson has announced that his Virgin Group company, which is already in the airline, train, and space travel businesses, will enter the cruise industry with “Virgin Cruises.” Not much in the way of details have been released, but there are plans to build two “world class” cruise ships, and the operation will be based out of the Miami/Fort Lauderale area.
No timeline has been announced for the roll-out of the new cruise line, but getting the new ships constructed and launched is likely to take several years.
